Otis is a privately owned ski hill outside of Elizabethtown New York. It was a gathering place for the local skiers from around the area during the 60’s and 70’s, but was forced to close in the 80’s. In 1995 the land was sold to Jeff Allott who fixed the place up and turned the once giant 2 hill mountain into 1 hill serviced by a rope tow. In recent years otis has developed into more of a park and backcountry oriented ski hill, with ice climbing and cross country ski facilities as well. Recently Otis has hosted events such as the Backcountry ski festival.
